Celebrating 50 of Designers Guild

Designers Guild was established in 1970 in a small section of a single shop in Chelsea's King's road. It is currently headed by the brother and sister duo - Tricia Guild and Simon Jeffreys.

Tricia, as the founder and creative director, is also the centerpiece of the brand, the leading imagination from which all of the staple Designers Guild designs come from.

Now, in 2020 we celebrate 50 years of this incredible company and along with it, the launch of Tricia Guilds latest book - out of the blue. The Fashion and Textile Museum in London is running an exhibition in tribute of this, between the 14 February to the 14 June, highlighting the different processes that have brought these distinguished Designers Guild collections to life throughout the years.

I suppose I was lucky to discover what I wanted to do at an early age, and have the conviction to stick by it.
— Tricia Guild

Over the 50 years of existence, this internationally renowned enterprise has evolved in their techniques, with the present processes being a delicate infusion of innovative modern technology and the integrity and soul of age-old techniques. By pushing boundaries while defining tastes and styles, Tricia Guild’s distinctive, creative approach to interiors has changed the way that people see colour, pattern and texture in their homes.

Designers Guild is well known for their elegant ombre designs, vibrant blues, fresh greens as well as the incomparable floral prints that we have all learned to love.
